Summer Bingo Event!
We are excited to announce our three month long challenge event this year: Bingo! This comes in addition to our regular summer books: The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon and Before the Coffee Gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi. Our summer books will be discussed at our first meeting next year, but the bingo is online and a way to stay connected over summer!
From May 8th to August 16th, we will be hosting a bingo challenge on our discord. If you are not already on our discord, just email boilerbc@purdue.edu to join! Once you are on the server, our custom bot will automatically generate a bingo card for you, and as you read throughout the summer you can check certain categories off!
The rules are simple! You can also find them in the #summer-bingo channel, where you will run your commands.
To get started, head over to #summer-bingo:
Run !newcard and then
Read something relevant to a category!
Mark it off with !complete [category].[book]
Repeat 2-3, using !mycard to view your card!
Anybody who completes one diagonal, row, or column will receive a bookmark when the year starts. If you manage to blackout your card, however, we have an exciting mystery prize available (note that you must be a member to accept this prize, but not to participate)!
Don’t forget to share your progress and talk about how your summer is going with others on our Discord! This is a great chance for newcomers to the club to get to know people and prepare for the 2022-2023 school year. We look forward to seeing everyone next fall.
