2023-2024 Board Elections

We will be holding elections during March this semester for the 2023-2024 Book Club Board!

Voting Timeline:

2/28 Application Form Released

3/28 Application Form Closes at 9pm

3/28 Speeches during Monthly Meeting

3/28 Voting Form Released

4/4 Voting Form Closes - New Board Elected

The application form will be sent out 2/28. Those who fill out the form will be placed in the running for the position that they run for. Speeches will be given during the Monthly Meeting on 3/28. That is also when the voting form will open up. Answers to the questions from the application form will be included in the voting form sent out after the meeting. All submissions will be available for members to see when voting. The voting form will close on 4/4 and New Board will be officially elected. 

Below are descriptions of each position. Please only apply if you are serious about the time commitment and know you will be able to be active the whole year. There are existing Board guides for each position that new elects will receive.

Board Positions

1. President (Current: Haley Huntington) (Only former/current Board members can apply for President)

    - Deal with long-term club planning and systems such as documentation and sponsorships

    - Write SOGA proposals for events and club office

    - Act as the point of contact for organizations during collaboration, handle outreach with authors

    - Run monthly meetings and events, meeting announcements

    - Manage the rest of the Board's responsibilities and resolve exceptional circumstances

2. Vice President (Current: Bailey Davis)

    - Manage Purdue outreach with hall clubs and other campus organizations

    - Write proposal grants, run the annual Reader Royale event

    - Create forms and collect data when necessary from members (such as voting, rating, etc)

    - Send out discord announcements on important upcoming information

3. Communications Officer (Current: Kai Tinkess)

    - Oversee graphic design (Canva) and the website (Squarespace)

    - Run the Instagram and outreach with merchandising companies

    - Manage the 4/5-person Communication Committee (which does the above) and interview candidates

    - Advertise the club through existing and new channels (perform innovation)

4. Treasurer (Current: Matt Headley)

    - Process all financial matters 

    - Liaise with the SAO and BOSO offices

    - Work with budgets for merchandise and events

    - Update member information on Discord and privately with club dues

5. Secretary (Current: Gracie Susanto)

    - Write APF and Unitime proposals for upcoming events and meetings

    - Take Board and monthly meeting notes

    - Manage and organize systems like Google Drive

    - Run and update the BoilerLink and accept incoming join requests, take attendance during meetings
